SKYCITY at the heart of Auckland with its world class casino, 18 fabulous restaurants and bars, the luxurious 5* SKYCITY Grand Hotel, 4.5* SKYCITY Hotel and the Sky Tower. Also home to The SKYCITY Modern Apprentice Programme, New Zealand's largest single site employer food and beverage industry apprentice programme.

The programme is run annually accepting the ten best and brightest young chefs across the country to train in 15 of SKYCITY's kitchens. The three year course exposes the chefs to all parts of SKYCITY's food and beverage operation. This allows participants to experience everything from prep work in the large scale convention centre, to creating the delicacies of a pastry kitchen, to the technical aspects of a butchery, while training onsite for the, industry's valuable NZQA Level four qualification.

SKYCITY has also accepted seven new young HSI modern apprentices studying a 3 year Level 4 Food and Beverage programme. The apprentices rotate around SKYCITY's various Food and Beverage outlets and Bars learning menus, wine lists, systems and processes whilst being expected to deliver great customer service and a high standard of practical service skills.
